ABOUT US

Ericeira Local Surf School has been teaching surfers from all over the world since 2012. The surf school was created by a local surfer who wanted to share his lifelong passion for surfing. The main objective of the surf school is not just that you have an unforgettable experience, but to teach you the right way, that way we keep our classes in small groups to guarantee attention and dedication to each student.

Our friendly and experienced coaches provide a wealth of knowledge of all aspects of surfing. We are dedicated to sharing this knowledge of not only board riding technique but also surfing awareness and how to surf safely. Regardless of age or size, our accredited surf coaches are trained to support and recognize individual learning levels. Our surf instructors have been trained and accredited by the Portuguese Surfing Federation.

SURF LESSONS

BEGINNER

Is this your first time surfing?

Do you still struggle to catch your own wave?

Do you still have trouble understanding the basic technique of standing up?

Yes. Then beginner is for you.

In beginner you will:

• • introduced to the parts of the board;

• • learn basic surf awareness and how to be safe in the water;

• • you will learn the correct paddling and board riding techniques;

• • you will learn the basic steps of turning;

• • you will have a two hour lesson with a qualified and experienced surf instructor.

INTERMEDIATE

Do you find it easy to catch white wash and ride it to the shore?

Are you ready to paddle out the back and try catch some green waves?

Yes. Then intermediate is for you.

In intermediate you will:

• learn about surf etiquette and how to be safe in the line up;

• learn about how the ocean works including rips, currents, tides etc;

• learn the technique to get out in the line up;

• learn the correct positioning to catch and ride a green wave;

• learn how to turn across a green wave;

• you will have a two hour lesson with a qualified and experienced surf instructor.

ADVANCED

If you want to learn to surf in a short amount of time, if you already have good surfing skills but want to improve your technique or if you think you aren’t making any progresses anymore, this service is for you because it comprises individual guidance 100% focused on your needs.

In Advanced you will:

• • Record in video;

• • Footage analysis;

• • learn the technique to get out in the line up;

• • learn the correct positioning to catch and ride a green wave;

• • learn s-turns;

• • Triming;

• • you will have a two hour lesson with a qualified and experienced surf instructor.
