
The Ericeira Surf Club took its first steps in 1992 through an Organizing Committee, formally establishing itself as a non-profit Sports Association on September 23, 1993. Its main objectives are to train, promote, participate in, publicize, and organize surfing events, notably surfing, bodyboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, skimboarding, longboarding, skateboarding, bodysurfing, kayaking, waveskiing, kneeboarding, kitesurfing, tow-in surfing, windsurfing, and paddling.
It develops its activities in accordance with the principles of sustainable development, supporting, executing, and sponsoring programs, initiatives, and actions in the following fields: Sports; Scientific research and innovation; Education and citizenship; Professional qualification and training; Health and well-being; Entrepreneurship and employment; Security and social assistance; Culture and arts development; Environment and sustainability; Natural, historical, architectural, and urban heritage; Patronage and philanthropy; or Cooperation and internationalization.
