ABOUT US

Ericeira Local Surf School has been teaching surfers from all over the world since 2012. The school was created by a local surfer who wanted to share his long-standing passion for surfing. The school's main objective is not only to provide an unforgettable experience, but also to teach the right way. Therefore, we keep our classes small to ensure attention and dedication to each student.

Our experienced and friendly instructors possess vast knowledge of all aspects of surfing. We are dedicated to sharing this knowledge not only of surfing technique, but also of surf awareness and how to surf safely. Regardless of age or size, our certified surf instructors are trained to support and recognize individual learning levels. Our surf instructors are trained and certified by the São Paulo Surf Federation.

SURF LESSONS

BEGINNER

Is this your first time surfing?

Still having difficulty catching a wave?

Still having difficulty understanding the basic technique of standing on the board?

Yes? So, the beginner level is for you. At the beginner level, you will:

• learn the parts of the surfboard;
• learn basic surfing techniques and how to stay safe in the water;
• learn the correct paddling and surfing techniques;
• learn the basic steps for turning;
• have a two-hour lesson with a qualified and experienced surf instructor.

Intermediate Level

Do you find it easy to catch the whitewater and surf to the beach?

Are you ready to paddle out and try to catch some bigger waves?

Yes? Then the intermediate level is for you.

At the intermediate level, you will:

• learn about surf etiquette and how to stay safe in the outside;
• learn about how the ocean works, including rip currents, ocean currents, tides, etc.;
• learn the technique for entering the outside;
• learn the correct positioning to catch and surf a bigger wave;
• learn how to turn on a bigger wave;
• have a two-hour lesson with a qualified and experienced surf instructor.

ADVANCED

If you want to learn to surf quickly, if you already have good surfing skills but want to improve your technique, or if you feel you are no longer progressing, this service is for you, as it includes 100% individual guidance focused on your needs.

In the Advanced course, you will:

• record on video;
• analyze the footage;
• learn the technique for entering the outside;
• learn the correct positioning to catch and surf a perfect wave;
• learn how to do S turns;
• adjust the board;
• have a two-hour lesson with a qualified and experienced surf instructor.
