Sesimbra Nautical Station

Having established itself as an eclectic geographical area, the municipality of Sesimbra is home to a unique and exceptional cultural identity. Sesimbra is currently one of the country's main tourist attractions, not only for its crystal-clear beaches, but also for offering what many experts consider the best fish in the world, and a variety of historical and natural points of interest. Sesimbra Castle, Santiago Fortress, the Chapel of the Holy Spirit of the Seafarers, the Sampaio Mill, the Avelino Quarry Ichnofossil Deposit, and Cabo Espichel are some of the places that attract thousands of national and international tourists annually, making it an excellent destination that is an unmissable visit.

This development model is based on the integrated valorization of the territory's resources and the promotion of quality equipment and services in the areas of the maritime economy, hospitality, restaurants, and activities relevant to tourism. The Sesimbra Nautical Station is coordinated by the Sesimbra Municipal Council and currently has 31 partners, including public and private entities.

The project aims to meet the growing demand for experiential tourism, such as diving, one of the activities that has propelled Sesimbra nationally and internationally, and is the natural consequence of a strategy for developing quality tourism based on the maritime economy.

The Sesimbra Nautical Station covers the entire coastline of the municipality of Sesimbra, as well as the contiguous maritime areas. In this sense, and considering the areas of interest and potential for boosting activities within the geographical area of ​​the municipality, the following aspects are considered:
